Beginnings

This is my ultimate favorite picture ever methinks. It makes me so happy. The whole country had to come together during this time and when we came out victorious in Japan there was something for everyone to celebrate. I would have loved to live during Worl War Two and have been a nurse. Did you know that by the end of the war in 1945, out of the 50,000 nurses in the Army Corp, only 479 of them were black? Not because black women didn't want to volunteer, but because the times were different back then. I'm so happy that things have changed now.
